What our badges mean

We only say what we have checked, and every line says how we know it. Nobody can pay for a badge, a better spot in search, or a review. When a fact stops being true, the line goes away.

Done through InTownPro

The homeowner sent the job to pros on InTownPro, chose this pro, and the job was finished.

Confirmed by the pro and the homeowner

Both sides said the job happened: a homeowner logged it and the pro confirmed it, or the pro added it and the homeowner accepted it. "Confirmed on InTownPro" on a search card counts these and jobs done through InTownPro.

Logged by a homeowner

A homeowner added the job to their home's record and named this pro. It counts in the pro's jobs done, labeled so you know it is the homeowner's word alone.

Reviews

Reviews come from homeowners with an account. A review of a finished job says so, with the type of work and the month. Pros can answer a review and can ask us to look at one they think is unfair; we also watch for bursts of reviews that look fake.

Usually replies within…

The typical time between a homeowner's request or first message and the pro's first answer, over the last six months. We show it only after at least 3 requests, and only when the pro answered at least half of them.

Hired them again

Homeowners who had more than one finished job done by the pro.

Friends and neighbors

When you're signed in, a card can say which of your friends hired or saved a pro. Only your own friends are ever named, and homeowners can stop sharing their hires in Settings. Otherwise a card can say how many jobs the pro did in your town or within 10 miles in the last year, shown once there are at least 2.

Jobs show their type of work, town and month only. We never show a customer's name or address.

Shield next to a pro's name

The InTownPro team approved this pro by hand ("Trusted Reviewer Approved"). It is not a license or insurance check.
