Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled form), phone number if you add one, and whether you're a homeowner or a pro.
• Homeowner records: the homes you add, their projects, photos, invoices you upload, past work you log, and the pros you save or recommend.
• Pro profiles: business name, services, service area, photos, availability and the other details you put on your profile, which are shown publicly.
• Messages, quotes and reviews you send or write on InTownPro.
• Location: the town or address you enter, and an approximate location from your internet address, used to show nearby pros.
• App alerts: if you allow alerts in the app, a code from Apple that lets us send them to your phone.
• Usage information: pages visited, time spent on them, features used, how fast pages load and any errors, measured by InTownPro itself and through Google Analytics, and the cookies that keep you signed in. Our own measurement uses a random ID stored in your browser, not your name or email, and is deleted after 13 months.

To run InTownPro: create your account, show pros to homeowners, deliver messages, project requests and quotes, send the emails and alerts you've chosen, keep the service secure, and understand how it's used so we can improve it. Reviews and pro profiles are public by design. Homes, invoices and messages are visible only to you and the people you share them with.

We share information only with companies that provide parts of the service for us:

• Vercel, for hosting and file storage
• Neon, to store our database
• SendGrid (Twilio), to send email
• Twilio, to send text messages if you've turned them on
• Stripe, to process pro subscription payments
• Google, for "Continue with Google" sign-in on the website and for Google Analytics
• Geoapify, to suggest addresses as you type
• Anthropic, whose AI reads uploaded invoices and fills in their details for you to check, suggests the type of work from your description of a job, reads business cards we scan, and helps our team run and support the service
• Apple, to deliver app alerts

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people using InTownPro.

If you add a mobile number for texts, we use it only to send the code that confirms it and the notifications you turn on. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. • Edit your profile and details at any time in your account.
• Turn off any email in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Turn off app alerts in your phone's settings.
• Delete your account in Settings, on the website or in the app. This removes your sign-in, personal details, homes and their records, and takes a pro's profile out of search. Reviews you wrote and messages you sent stay for the other person, shown as from a "Former member".

We keep your account information until you delete your account. For people without an account, we delete invitations nobody accepted after 1 year, and our notes about business contacts who never joined 2 years after we last spoke. We clear the internet address an account was created from after 13 months.

Connections to InTownPro are encrypted, passwords are stored scrambled, and access to our systems is limited to people who need it. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use elsewhere.

InTownPro is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
